We already published the list of best PS Vita games of all time, now it’s time to discover the best PS Vita dance/music/rhythm games of all time.
With amazing titles available, the PS Vita definitely has a great library of dance/music/rhythm games.
So, if you’re a fan of both the PS Vita and dance/music/rhythm games, there’s a chance you’ll like this list.
And some of you may already know some of the games mentioned in this list.
#10. Orgarhythm
- Release Data: Acquire, 2012
- Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music
While Orgarhythm‘s overall idea is great, the positives are hidden in the mix by flaws that make it much more of a hassle than it should be.
There are moments of excellence that occasionally blare out front and center and hint at what could have been, but that quality is sadly not as consistent throughout as its stomping drum beats.
#9. Magical Beat
- Release Data: Arc System Works, 2014
- Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music
Magical Beat is a fantastic and bold puzzle game that only skips a few beats.
The lack of online multiplayer is like nails on a chalkboard for a title such as this, but the magnificent soundtrack, charming avatars, and addictive twist on an age old genre make it worth dancing to the tune of.
#8. KickBeat
- Release Data: Zen Studios, 2013
- Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music
KickBeat is definitely on rhythm, and will consume hours of your time with its beat-matching brawling as a consequence.
The track roster may have a song or two that don’t tickle you, but with Rob Zombie, Papa Roach, and Marilyn Manson on the setlist, there’s more than enough to keep you moving to the game’s distinctive tango of death.
#7. Persona 4: Dancing All Night
- Release Data: Atlus, 2015
- Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music
Packed full of the charm that you’d expect from the series, Persona 4: Dancing All Night is an entertaining rhythm game that could warm even the coldest heart.
And if you’re a Persona 4 fan then this is for you, and while it may not be the best example of the rhythm genre, it certainly has the most personality.
#6. SUPERBEAT: XONiC
- Release Data: Nurijoy/Arc System Works, 2015
- Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music
While it may be confusing and bizarre at first, Superbeat: Xonic quickly becomes an addictive time sink for fans of rhythm games.
The combination of difficulty, sense of progression, and unlockable content can make it a hard title to put down even after your fingers get sore.
In short, it’s one of the best rhythm games on the platform.
#5. Bit.Trip Presents…Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien
- Release Data: Gaijin Games, 2013
- Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music
This portable port is perfectly suited to the quick fix philosophy of the Vita, and it’s an ideal accompaniment to some of the system’s more meaty releases as a result.
Its boss battles and emphasis on scoring bullseyes can be a bit frustrating, but this is still a title that you’ll find yourself going back to over and over.
#4. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X
- Release Data: Sega, 2016
- Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music
While this iteration fixes many of the annoyances of the previous titles, it added a few of its own, though not enough to sour the experience.
This is hands-down one of the best music and rhythm games for the PS Vita, though it isn’t exactly a competitive genre these days.
#3. DJMax Technika Tune
- Release Data: Pentavision Entertainment/CyberFront, 2012
- Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music
DJMAX Technika Tune offers a smooth, enjoyably frustrating experience rooted in precisely-tuned gameplay fundamentals.
It may not be especially generous with the extras and fluff, but gets it all right where it counts the most, with the added bonus of making the PS Vita’s touch gimmicks useful and relevant to play.
#2. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f
- Release Data: Sega, 2014
- Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music
If you’re new to the vocaloid scene, it is better for you to listen to a few songs first.
However, if fast-paced, electronic beats are your thing, don’t let the few gameplay minor flaws deter you from having a head-boppingly good time with everyone’s favorite green-haired girl.
#1. Sound Shapes
- Release Data: SCEA, 2012
- Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music
It’s not often that a rhythm game combines elements of the platformer genre into it but Sound Shapes is just that game.
Overall, it’s perfect for people that want a change to the standard formula in a really great game since Sound Shapes production values are extremely high.
Are your favorite games on the list?
Deciding which PS Vita dance/music/rhythm game is the best is no doubt a never ending topic, but it’s fun to do!
