We already published the list of best Xbox One games of all time, now it’s time to discover the best Xbox One western RPGs of all time.
With amazing titles available, the Xbox One definitely has a great library of western RPGs.
So, if you’re a fan of both the Xbox One and western RPGs, there’s a chance you’ll like this list.
And some of you may already know some of the games mentioned in this list.
#10. The Technomancer
- Release Data: Spiders/Focus Home Interactive, 2016
- Genre: Role-Playing » Western-Style
If there is anything that The Technomancer nails, it’s combat.
Each combat style plays differently, and they’re all a lot of fun, but the star of the show is the technomancer abilities that allow you to shoot lightning bolts at their enemies, imbue their weapons with lightning properties, shield themselves in a forcefield of static electricity, and much more.
#9. Torment: Tides of Numenera
- Release Data: InXile Entertainment/Techland, 2017
- Genre: Role-Playing » Western-Style
It doesn’t surpass the emotional heights of its late 90s forebear, but Tides of Numenera’s incredibly distinct world and unique approach to gameplay offer something really untraditional to sink your time, thoughts and choices into.
For RPG fans this is super exciting, and will be sure to entertain across multiple playthroughs over dozens, if not hundreds of hours.
#8. Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut
- Release Data: InXile Entertainment/Deep Silver, 2015
- Genre: Role-Playing » Western-Style
While pacing problems of the original release remain, the Director’s Cut does much to add variety to the experience with new features such as perks, quirks, and precision aiming.
However, there’s nothing else like Wasteland 2 on the Xbox One.
It’s an old school challenge that rewards your continued efforts with a real sense of accomplishment and progression.
#7. Fallout 4: Automatron
- Release Data: Bethesda Game Studios/Bethesda Softworks, 2016
- Genre: Role-Playing » Western-Style
Automatron is a fun piece of DLC that expands Fallout 4 in some interesting ways, applying the sort of customization previously reserved for settlements to your traveling companions.
The story mode is brief, the narrative is mundane, and sadly the Fallout 4 bugs are still hanging around, but the overall experience is rewarding, imaginative, and a pleasure to play.
#6. Fallout 4: Far Harbor
- Release Data: Bethesda Game Studios/Bethesda Softworks, 2016
- Genre: Role-Playing » Western-Style
Far Harbor definitely doesn’t disappoint in terms of its size, and the main questline is as interesting as you’d expect from a Fallout 4 DLC.
However, the setting is not the most exciting due to its foggy and dark nature.
That being said, there’s plenty here to keep you busy, interested and more than entertained for a good number of hours.
#5. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
- Release Data: Bethesda Game Studios/Bethesda Softworks, 2016
- Genre: Role-Playing » Western-Style
The world of Skyrim is incredibly detailed, with numerous villages and cities to explore, as well as dangerous delves and dungeons to clear out.
And whether you want to join a group of assassins, become the world’s greatest thief, or master the mystical arts, you can do it all in the fantastical world of Skyrim.
#4. Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition
- Release Data: Paradox Arctic/Paradox Interactive, 2017
- Genre: Role-Playing » Western-Style
Players are allotted a huge amount of freedom in this sprawling RPG with tons of customization.
This version of Pillars of Eternity also contains the two-part expansion, The White March.
Across both experiences, players are encouraged to find unique ways to complete quests, including stealth, combat, and dialogue.
#3. The Outer Worlds
- Release Data: Obsidian Entertainment/Private Division, 2019
- Genre: Role-Playing » Western-Style
This expansive RPG puts players in the shoes of a fresh face in the Halcyon galaxy, a collection of planets with various characters to meet and quests to complete.
And whether you’re talking your way out of a situation or using some firepower, this is one epic space journey that provides ample action and entertainment.
#2. Divinity: Original Sin II – Definitive Edition
- Release Data: Larian Studios Games, 2018
- Genre: Role-Playing » Western-Style
In this title, you can dive into this fantasy world of RPG greatness, taking on quests and killing monsters.
Players can create their own hero, choosing from a wide variety of cosmetic options and character classes.
In addition to the lengthy campaign, a competitive multiplayer mode is available for those who want to test their wits against other players.
#1. Fallout 4
- Release Data: Bethesda Game Studios/Bethesda Softworks, 2015
- Genre: Role-Playing » Western-Style
The main story of Fallout 4 revolves around your main character’s impact on the surrounding wasteland, as you choose what factions to side with and make major decisions.
A large variety of customization options makes building your own town a fun treat, but the option to completely disregard the entire base feature is what makes Fallout 4 special.
