#10. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia
- Release Data: Climax Studios/Ubisoft, 2016
- Genre: Action Adventure » Linear
Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia ends the trilogy on a higher note, managing to add a few new things over the last two installments.
With two engaging heroes, a solid story and some great new gadgets and mechanics, Russia brings the series to a satisfying close.
If you enjoyed the past two Chronicles games then you will most likely enjoy this one.
#9. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India
- Release Data: Climax Studios/Ubisoft, 2016
- Genre: Action Adventure » Linear
This title does well at fleshing out the Assassin’s Creed universe by showing the struggle between the Assassins and the Templars reaching all cultures throughout time.
While the main story of the clash between the two powers may be getting a bit dry, the love story driving the hero is a nice change.
Overall, it’s a fine addition to the series.
#8. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China
- Release Data: Climax Studios/Ubisoft, 2015
- Genre: Action Adventure » Linear
Assassins Creed Chronicles: China does an impressive job of taking the lore and core mechanics of the series and making them work in a 2D game.
It’s slick, fast-paced and entertaining, with some beautiful stylized art, and all it lacks is a little magic to turn it from a good spin-off into a great one.
#7. Rise of the Tomb Raider: Baba Yaga – The Temple of the Witch
- Release Data: Crystal Dynamics/Square Enix, 2016
- Genre: Action Adventure » Linear
As a short, fun burst of content and an excuse to revisit the things that you loved about Rise of the Tomb Raider, Baba Yaga works.
If you don’t mind a short DLC, with a new area to explore, and a new villain to fight, then you should definitely play Rise of the Tomb Raider: Baba Yaga.
#6. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris
- Release Data: Crystal Dynamics/Square Enix, 2014
- Genre: Action Adventure » Linear
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is a solid evolution of the formula established in the original, and does a fantastic job of encapsulating the old Tomb Raider atmosphere and presenting it in a smaller world.
The platforming isn’t the best, and it isn’t the longest game around, but it’s a blast to play either alone or with friends.
#5. The Little Acre
- Release Data: Curve Digital, 2016
- Genre: Action Adventure » Linear
The Little Acre offers a great all around experience for everyone.
It’s one of those games that you should pop some popcorn and gather the family for a fun enjoyable game night.
Simply put, it manages to keep you enthralled the whole time, offering a happy yet emotional story with enjoyable puzzles, simple controls and good humor.
#4. Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition
- Release Data: Capcom, 2015
- Genre: Action Adventure » Linear
Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition is a game that is not hard to recommend at all.
Despite the game having a poor pace in its storyline and campaign, the action that you will experience is unimaginable.
If you love the Devil May Cry series just because of its addictive combat system, Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition is for you.
#3. Little Nightmares
- Release Data: Tarsier Studios/Bandai Namco Games, 2017
- Genre: Action Adventure » Linear
There’s a real tense of dread in Little Nightmares that is hard to quantify.
As Six progresses through the world, attempting to satiate her hunger, she’ll have to deal with unspeakable horrors.
From demented creatures to her own internal demons, Six will have to fight off some truly creepy stuff if she wants to survive.
#2. DmC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition
- Release Data: QLOC/Capcom, 2015
- Genre: Action Adventure » Linear
Although the original series had a lot of style, DmC adds a healthy dose of punk rock influence to the mix.
The hack and slash gameplay is visually stunning, and the extensive combo system will have you doing more than just mash buttons.
There’s also a surprising amount of replayability, mostly due to the multiple difficulty levels and unlockable skills.
#1. Rise of the Tomb Raider
- Release Data: Crystal Dynamics/Square Enix, 2015
- Genre: Action Adventure » Linear
This continuation of the Tomb Raider reboot gives players a bigger space to explore.
The gameplay is a great mixture of platforming, third-person shooting, and puzzle solving, usually wrapped into one cohesive experience.
Furthermore, the decidedly mature tone allows the story to explore some pretty dark places, making this one of the more creepy Tomb Raider titles to be released.
