We already published the list of best Wii games of all time, now it’s time to discover the best Wii survival/horror games of all time.
With amazing titles available, the Wii definitely has a great library of survival/horror games.
So, if you’re a fan of both the Wii and survival/horror games, there’s a chance you’ll like this list.
And some of you may already know some of the games mentioned in this list.
#10. Ju-on: The Grudge
- Release Data: FeelPlus/AQ Interactive, 2009
- Genre: Action Adventure » Survival
Ju-On: The Grudge is an interesting spin on the horror genre with a focus on scaring players.
If you’re not the type to get drawn into ghost stories then you probably won’t get much out of this title, but if you enjoy a good scare then you’ll have some fun with this.
#9. Alone in the Dark
- Release Data: Hydravision/Atari SA, 2008
- Genre: Action Adventure » Survival
Not all of Alone in the Dark works and lots of the cool stuff is underused, but it is thrilling to experience its difference, and inspiring to see developers going out with something bold.
It’s also a highly replayable game due to its episodic nature and the fact that you can go easily to any level you like.
#8. Calling
- Release Data: Hudson Entertainment, 2010
- Genre: Action Adventure » Survival
Sometimes things without the most original ideas can still elevate themselves higher than the sum of their parts through tight execution, but unfortunately Calling fails to keep things together for more than an hour.
But if you really like Japanese horror stuff then you might find enjoyment here.
#7. Obscure: The Aftermath
- Release Data: Hydravision/Playlogic, 2008
- Genre: Action Adventure » Survival
Obscure: The Aftermath is a surprisingly good game for its tier.
It’s generally worth it for some fun co-op, great atmosphere and really beautiful music.
And despite its problems, the overall experience is enjoyable.
In the end, this title is recommended for those seeking a good co-op title for the Wii that doesn’t involve two plumbers.
#6. Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero
- Release Data: Capcom, 2009
- Genre: Action Adventure » Survival
In many ways, Resident Evil Zero provides a timely reminder of the things we miss about old style survival-horror.
The heavy emphasis on puzzles, slower pace and the harrowing boss encounters make it feel more like a true horror adventure, and once you get to grips with its minor flaws it becomes strangely satisfying and rewarding.
#5. Cursed Mountain
- Release Data: Deep Silver, 2009
- Genre: Action Adventure » Survival
Cursed Mountain is a very good surprise for all survival horror fans.
The story and setting certainly give the game some charm, while the gameplay is engaging enough to motivate you to finish it.
Fans of the genre who want something more original would do well with this game, as would those who are looking for a more substantial gaming experience.
#4. Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil
- Release Data: Capcom, 2009
- Genre: Action Adventure » Survival
If you for some reason didn’t get around to checking it out before, this title is a great deal and will provide you with countless hours of Resident Evil goodness.
And if you don’t mind the same old flaws and weaknesses and never played the Resident Evil remake on the GameCube, then this would definitely be a worthwhile game.
#3. Project Zero 2: Wii Edition
- Release Data: Koei Tecmo Games/Nintendo, 2012
- Genre: Action Adventure » Survival
Despite some flaws, Project Zero 2: Wii Edition is still an incredibly fun and spooky experience.
Its claustrophobic atmosphere and masterful sense of pacing generate a pervasive sense of dread that immerses and consumes you.
In the end, it’s the excruciating moments of anxious anticipation that make Project Zero 2 one of the scariest experiences you’ll encounter in any medium.
#2. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
- Release Data: Climax Studios/Konami, 2009
- Genre: Action Adventure » Survival
Shattered Memories is a fantastic return to the core concept of personal fear, and though its developers made some unorthodox decisions those decisions have paid off handsomely.
And by the end of the day, this is an entirely new experience that is truer to it than any other game bearing the name since Silent Hill 3.
#1. Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
- Release Data: Capcom, 2007
- Genre: Action Adventure » Survival
Often regarded as the best game in the Resident Evil franchise, this bloody and graphic adventure is as fun to play as it is scary.
Using the Wii remote to aim at the screen, you’ll cautiously make your way through the game world, battling terrifying enemies and monsters.
If you haven’t played this classic third-person shooter, be sure to get it!
