Best Wii U Puzzle Games of All Time

We already published the list of best Wii U games of all time, now it’s time to discover the best Wii U puzzle games of all time.

With amazing titles available, the Wii U definitely has a great library of puzzle games.

So, if you’re a fan of both the Wii U and puzzle games, there’s a chance you’ll like this list.

And some of you may already know some of the games mentioned in this list.

#10. Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars
  • Release Data: Nintendo Software Technology/Nintendo, 2015
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars is very reminiscent of Lemmings, as the goal is to guide Mario and friends through levels by manipulating objects around them, instead of directly controlling them.

All in all, it is a hugely enjoyable action puzzler with some really fantastic ideas and mechanics.

#9. Scribblenauts Unlimited

Scribblenauts Unlimited
  • Release Data: 5TH Cell/Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, 2012
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

The campaign could be considered to be on the short side, and the multiplayer gameplay leaves much to be desired, but, as always, Scribblenauts is about the pure joy of extending your imagination.

This is the kind of game that looks great, controls well, and provides a lot of family-friendly fun.

#8. Human Resource Machine

Human Resource Machine
  • Release Data: Tomorrow Corporation, 2015
  • Genre: Puzzle » General

Human Resource Machine‘s only fault is that there are far too few puzzles; its 38 puzzles go very quickly once you have the hang of how to program, leaving a game that could be completed in under an hour depending on your skill level.

However, for those with no programming background, these same puzzles could take hours of your time.

#7. RUSH

RUSH
  • Release Data: Two Tribes, 2013
  • Genre: Puzzle » General

It looks terrific, with sharp, bright environments that make plotting the trajectory of your cube easy on the eye.

Most importantly, the gameplay is very rewarding.

Seeing everything go according to plan, like a perfectly set-up row of dominoes falling is tremendously satisfying.

#6. The Bridge

The Bridge
  • Release Data: Ty Taylor and Mario Castaneda/The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild, 2015
  • Genre: Puzzle » Logic

This is the kind of game the works well on the Wii U; with its gravitational gameplay element it fits perfectly with the GamePad’s gyroscope features as well as the touch screen controls.

The Bridge is different than most puzzlers on the Wii U, but that, along with its emphasis on gameplay, is what makes it stand out the most.

#5. Edge

Edge
  • Release Data: Two Tribes, 2013
  • Genre: Puzzle » General

With over a hundred levels to conquer, plus a familiar ranking system, there is plenty to do to keep players busy.

Perhaps the difficulty will drive some away, while an addition of camera control would have been welcome; yet this is a title that gets so much right.

#4. Toki Tori 2

Toki Tori 2
  • Release Data: Two Tribes, 2013
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

This sequel is quite different from the original Toki Tori, giving players new abilities to use.

Players can interact with the environment as well as the creatures that inhabit it, documenting their findings on a handy codex.

The Wii U version of the game features new puzzles and music, bringing out even more content to this already fleshed out game.

#3. Pushmo World

Pushmo World
  • Release Data: Intelligent Systems/Nintendo, 2014
  • Genre: Puzzle » Logic

Pushmo World is a sequel to both Pushmo and Crashmo, two highly popular puzzle games that previously released on the 3DS.

And this third game in the series expands upon the simplistic ideas of the first two games, without sacrificing what made them so great in this first place.

#2. Little Inferno

Little Inferno
  • Release Data: Tomorrow Corporation, 2012
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

Little Inferno is an extremely divisive experience due to its interesting and satirical approach to the puzzle genre.

As you interact with items around you, you can place them in the fire, burning them and witnessing the results.

In many ways, Little Inferno is like your own personal sandbox; albeit with a lot of fire.

#1. Art of Balance

Art of Balance
  • Release Data: Shin’en, 2014
  • Genre: Puzzle » General

Art of Balance on Wii U is definitely the best version of the classic by far.

The variety of control options, modes, and puzzles is a true delight, lasting a good number of hours.

And while it feels a bit unfair at times, the true quality of the overall experience still shines through constantly.

About

Hi, I'm R, and I've been playing video games since I was a kid. My first console was the original PlayStation (the gray one) and I spent countless hours playing Crash Bandicoot series and Spyro series. My second console was the PS2 Fat, and I completed all of the GTA series 100%.
