Best PSP Action Puzzle Games of All Time

We already published the list of best PSP games of all time, now it’s time to discover the best PSP action puzzle games of all time.

With amazing titles available, the PSP definitely has a great library of action puzzle games.

So, if you’re a fan of both the PSP and action puzzle games, there’s a chance you’ll like this list.

And some of you may already know some of the games mentioned in this list.

#10. Fading Shadows

Fading Shadows
  • Release Data: Ivolgamus/Agetec, 2008
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

There’s a good deal to appreciate in Fading Shadows. It’s an unusual concept that, at its best, is compelling.

Unfortunately, camera issues and poor level design choices pop up too frequently, upsetting the delicate balance of simple yet absorbing puzzle adventure gameplay that the game occasionally manages to achieve.

#9. Bloons

Bloons
  • Release Data: Bloober Team/Hands-On Mobile, 2009
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

Generally speaking, this is a satisfying version of Bloons, and also comes complete with a level editor, so you can tweak those stages you’ve unlocked.

And you can play any open levels using the unlimited darts option, should you so desire.

As a portable version of Bloons, this will keep you happily popping for hours.

#8. Bomberman

Bomberman
  • Release Data: Hudson, 2006
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

Bomberman for the PSP is a good game for just about anyone.

Sure, it doesn’t take any chances with a proven formula, but for people who have fond memories of all the Bomberman games that have been released over the past few decades, this is a satisfying way to play some portable Bomberman.

#7. Coconut Dodge

Coconut Dodge
  • Release Data: FuturLab, 2010
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

As a premise, Coconut Dodge is extremely simplistic.

Controlling a crab at the foot of the screen, you must weave in and out of falling coconuts, collecting treasure and bouncing randomly appearing beach-balls.

Naturally it’s nonsensical, but it’s cute and thoroughly addictive.

Put as simplistically as the game itself: Coconut Dodge is brilliant.

#6. Knight Fortix 2

Knight Fortix 2
  • Release Data: Nemesys, 2012
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

It’s an old skool game executed in a modern way, expanding on the game from which it takes its inspiration until it resembles a light strategy game as much as a pounding arcade title.

Though it won’t necessarily amaze you with its innovation, it’s still a refreshing twist on a familiar recipe.

#5. Pipe Mania

Pipe Mania
  • Release Data: Empire Interactive, 2008
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

With increasing difficulty and tons of levels to play through, this title is a great addition to your PSP library, especially if you enjoy puzzle games or have played this classic title before.

The graphics look good on the PSP and being able to Game Share the experience with friends is great.

#4. Angry Birds

Angry Birds
  • Release Data: Abstraction Games/Chillingo, 2011
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

There’s no denying that Angry Birds is fun, but it could use polish—such as sharper visuals, a better control and smoother action.

It’s one of those games you could play for a few hours on a plane or obsess over on your couch.

#3. Lemmings

Lemmings
  • Release Data: Team 17/SCEE, 2006
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

The PSP version of Lemmings features an attractive visual update, while the control system has been adapted well to cope with the frantic pace of the game.

Players who are familiar with previous Lemmings will know exactly what to expect, but the game feels right at home on the PSP.

#2. echochrome

echochrome
  • Release Data: SCE Japan Studio/SCEA, 2008
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

echochrome is a unique experience that’s easy to recommend. It is an innovative, challenging puzzler that plays with your perceptions and forces you to solve puzzles in unique, interesting ways.

The PS3 game is superior by virtue of its additional online features and sharper visuals, but no matter which version you choose, you won’t be disappointed.

#1. Wizorb

Wizorb
  • Release Data: Beatshapers, 2012
  • Genre: Puzzle » Action

All in all, Wizorb is the best new age implementation of the classic brick breaking genre.

Nostalgia dictates that we must by necessity find Breakout better, but by any objective standard possible, Wizorb outdoes Breakout, and it does a great job at modernizing the concept for today’s day and age.

About

Hi, I'm R, and I've been playing video games since I was a kid. My first console was the original PlayStation (the gray one) and I spent countless hours playing Crash Bandicoot series and Spyro series. My second console was the PS2 Fat, and I completed all of the GTA series 100%.
