A lot of people generally tend to not care about where they’re sitting when playing on consoles.
A couch? A chair? Who cares?!
Well, if you really want to step up your game in terms of comfort and style, you might want to check out pedestal chairs.
They don’t sit on the floor, so you aren’t looking up at a TV, and they’re not easy to move, so you won’t have to worry about it moving during your heated gaming.
Make sense? Great! Check out my article on the best pedestal gaming chairs.

1. X Rocker 51396 Pro Series Pedestal
If you’re looking for a top of the line chair, the X Rocker Pro series is a great option, especially in the pedestal type line-up.
First off, the chair has a metal frame and is padded with a soft vinyl, meaning that you’re going to be extra comfortable, and without any worries about squeak or a badly built chair.
It also has a headrest as well as gunstock arms, meaning you get a bit of adjustability.
Put it all together, and you get a chair that’s great for use over long periods of time.
Speaking of those long periods of time, this chair is great for gaming, as it’s compatible with most consoles, as well as anything that has an audio output or Bluetooth (such as your phone).
Along with that, you get 2.1 surround and X Rocker’s fancy Audio Force Modulation tech, which basically is a sound-based rumble feature.
Of course, no point having all that optionality if you don’t have ease of access, which you do through an easily accessible panel on the side of the chair.
Finally, you have the swivel pedestal and a recline feature, so you can just lay back and read a book or listen to music if you’re not in the mood to game.

Conclusion:
The X Rocker Pro Series is a great chair with very few cons, the main one being its price point.
Aside from that, you also have the fact that it’s quite heavy, so it’s going to be a thing to move around.
Finally, there is some assembly required, which shouldn’t be too much for an issue for most people.
Aside from those things, it’s a great chair with some great features, and it’s both a great gift and a great purchase for yourself.
2. X Rocker Pedestal Gaming Chair
One step down from the X Rocker Pro Series, the X Rocker 5127401 is still a great gaming.
Much like its bigger cousin, this chair is built with a metal frame and a vinyl exterior material, making it comfortable and pretty sturdy.
It also has armrests, except here they swivel on a point and can be completely flipped up if you don’t like having any armrests at all.
Unlike the Pro Series though, the X Rocker 5127401 has the speakers on the headrest facing the front, which means that you’re probably going to get a superior sound volume and quality as compared to the Pro Series.
That doesn’t necessarily detract from the Pro Series since you are giving up the AFM tech. So no rumble for you!
Of course, it does come with a recline features, as well as an easy to access panel on the side to adjust whatever you have connected to it.
It also has a Bluetooth feature, so it’s great for connecting your handheld device, such as your phone, and just sitting back and relaxing to some great music.

- Suitable for flight simulator: No
- Suitable for eSports: No

- Cup holder: No
- Massage: No
- Weight capacity: 300 lbs/136 kg
Conclusion:
The X Rocker 5127401 is a pretty sturdy chair and if you don’t have the budget, a great alternative to the Pro Series.
That being said, it does still ahave some of the same issues, such as the requirement for an assembly and the need for an adapter for your PS4, since it doesn’t have an RCA connector.
Similarly, you might have to get a BlueTooth adapter if you want to pair it wireless with the Xbox.
All in all, though, it’s a great chair for its price point.
3. X Rocker 5125401 2.1 Wireless
This baby is basically an upgraded Commander, and falls somewhere between the Commander and X Rocker 5127401.
The most standout feature is the two vents near the headrest for cooling.
You don’t generally tend to see this with rocker or pedestal type chairs, so it’s pretty cool.
The red trim tends to help with the ‘cool’ factor and acts a stark contrast to the Commander’s plain black.
Just like the Spider and Commander, you get their patented 2.1 AFM technology, so you’re still getting the rumble feature.
You also have the side-access panel, although the knobs have been reduced from three to two: Volume and Bass.
Of course, you’re still likely to run into the adapter issue if you’re hooking this chair up to a PS4 or an Xbox One.
You’ll also notice that this chair has a mix of vinyl and polyester, although the big thing when it comes to material and cushioning is the big bit at the end to support your thighs.
That design decision is a bit confusing, as thigh/knee support is very much up to preference and a lot of people might be put off by it.
So that’s definitely something you’ll want to consider when you’re buying this chair.
Finally, you get the somewhat finicky swivel armrests.
Again, another decision that might not have been that great.
Ultimately though, you are paying less, so don’t expect some of the nicer stuff from a chair like the X Rocker Pro Series.
Price Range: Under $200

- Chair type: Pedestal
- Reclines: Yes
- Armrest: Yes
- Footrest: No
- Ergonomic: Yes
- High back: Yes

- Vibration: Yes

- Suitable for racing games: No
- Suitable for flight simulator: No
- Suitable for eSports: No
- Suitable for living room: Yes
- Cup holder: No
- Massage: No
- Weight capacity: 250 lbs/113 kg
Conclusion:
It’s hard to say who this chair is made for, except for people who would prefer aesthetics.
The vent probably won’t make a difference for the lengths of time people will sit in it, and the thigh/kneed support thing might put a lot of people off.
Honestly, it might be best to try and aim for a cheaper or more expensive chair, unless aesthetics is what you’re after.
4. Giantex 360 Degree Swivel Game Chair
If you’re looking for a fancier version of the Maxwell Swivel, look no further!
First off, it has a generally sturdier frame.
While it’s also made of steel, it’s slightly more substantial, so you’ll get a much firmer sitting experience.
It also has a ton of padding, as you can tell from the picture.
I mean, the chances of you not sitting in it comfortably are very slim.
Similar to the swivel, this chair has 4 reclining positions, as well as a fold position for storage.
It also has a full 360-degree swivel, which is always a nice feature to have when you’re talking about a pedestal chair.
Speaking of the swivel, one great feature is that you can remove the base’s covering for cleaning, meaning you can properly clean the chair from top to bottom if you wish!
Of course, it should be mentioned at this point that the chair doesn’t rock, so don’t expect that to happen.
Also, for the lower price, you’re giving up some of the additional features, such as speakers and armrest.
It’s not a great loss though, especially if you’re looking for a multi-purpose chair, and if you’re not a tall or big person, it probably won’t even factor into the equation.
Price Range: Under $200
Perfect For: Adults, Kids

- Chair type: Pedestal
- Reclines: Yes
- Armrest: No
- Footrest: No
- Ergonomic: Yes
- High back: Yes

- Cup holder: No
- Massage: No
- Weight capacity: 250 lbs/113 kg
Conclusion:
When most people think ‘gaming chair’ they automatically think of speakers, armrests and even vents, but the truth is that it isn’t required.
Sometimes having a really comfortable seat is enough. Doubly so if you’re not going to just use it for gaming.
5. Magshion Black PU Racing Recliner Chair Set
Now, if you’re looking for the ultimate gaming chair without the bells and whistles, this is the one to look at, because while it might look like an office chair, it’s designed like a gaming chair.
First of all, let’s talk comfort.
The chair is cover in sleek PU leather, with a really sweet white trim.
You also get the wings for added comfort and that hugging feeling we all long for.
Finally, there are vents in the back for that all important cooling.
You put that all together and you get an excellent chair to sit and game on for hours and hours and hours.
Not only that, but the chair itself has both a recline and a tilt.
Specifically, the chair can tilt at a 20-degree angle from the base, meaning you can lean in or side to side when you’re super engrossed in your game.
The back itself also has a manual recline and you can pretty much set it into any position you what.
And if all that wasn’t enough, they included a comfortable footstool made of similar materials, so if you’re watching TV, reading a book or listening to music, you can lay back and feel like you’re just sitting on a cloud!

Conclusion:
Ok, so you aren’t going to get speakers or anything of that sort, but if you already have a pretty good sound system at home, this chair is an excellent choice, and probably the one you should go for out of this whole list.
And there you have it!
As always, I don’t want to skew anybody’s opinion to one chair or another, but here are my quick picks in case you’re on your way out the door:
Entry Level: Giantex 360 Degree Swivel Game Chair is probably what you’ll want to get in this price point. Yeah, it’s not fancy or anything, but it’s cheap and it can serve a ton of purposes other than gaming.
Mid Level: This one is a bit more difficult, but I’d suggest the X Rocker Pedestal Gaming Chair.
High Level: Over here the choice is clear: You’ll either want the X Rocker 51396 Pro Series Pedestal, or the Magshion Black PU Racing Recliner. Ultimately, the choice will be whether you want to get internal speakers or if you already have a pretty good speaker setup.
Of course, all the chairs on this article serve a function for a price point, so even if the chair you’re looking at doesn’t fall under the quick picks, don’t ignore it completely!
