If you’re planning to buy a gaming chair, you could be worse off than looking for chairs at the $200 price point.
If you’ve read my previous article for gaming chairs under $100, you’ll see that they come with quite a few issues, especially in build quality.
Once you bump your budget up to around $200, you start getting better build and more features (and also known manufacturers).
So, if you’re ready, let’s get started!
Anyway, here’s how to build an IKEA battlestation setup. Afterall, a gaming chair is just one part of the whole setup.

1. GTRACING Gaming Chair with Ergonomic Backrest – The Most Popular Gaming Chair Under $200
The first entry for this article is actually a pretty great chair with a reasonably good price.
First off, it has a metal frame for sturdiness. That metal frame is wrapped with padding and PU leather, although there is a bit of fabric in some places for support.
The seat cushion itself is reasonably thick, and you shouldn’t have too many problems with long sessions.
You’ll also be happy to hear that the chair has both a rocking feature and a recline of up to 170 degrees, which is great for what you’re paying.
The armrests are gun-stock and adjustable, something you don’t really find with cheaper chairs.
Like most racer chairs, you have the fins on the side and the all-important cooling vents. You also get a pair of pillows; One for the headrest and one for lumbar support.

While this chair isn’t going to stop traffic, it’s a pretty good option if you want to go the full $200. It’s basic and solidly built, customer support is good, and there are very few complaints in terms of build quality and contacting the company.
2. Furmax Racing Gaming Chair with High Back
A slightly cheaper chair than the one above, at a cheaper price. Even so, it’s still a pretty good chair, especially if you want to stay as close to $100 as possible.
Just like the GTRacer, this chair is covered in comfortable PU leather, with stiff padding in the cushion. It has a tubular steel frame for some added support and rigidity.
The armrests are gunstock, and adjustable up and down, something I think most people can agree is very useful.
Unlike the GTRacer though, it can recline all the way back to 180 degrees. Also, you’ll notice that this chair has a footrest, so pretty great if this is what you’re looking for.
As usual, you have the side fins, the cooling vents, and two pillows; One for the headrest and one for lumbar support.
Price Range: Under $200
Perfect For: Adults, Big & Tall Guys

- Chair type: Racer
- Reclines: Yes

Conclusion:
So this chair is actually an updated version of the same chair with thicker padding and a slightly more pronounced bucket seat.
Now, whether that’s good or bad is up to you. Some people prefer thicker stiff padding, others prefer soft.
Aside from that, this is a very similar chair to the GTRacer, and a pretty good option if you’re looking for something on the cheaper end of the scale.
Build quality is good and there are very few complaints, even though this is a lesser known manufacturer.
3. AutoFull Gaming Chair
If you didn’t like the previous chair much but still want a striking design, this is another great option.
Now, the interesting thing here is that this chair is very different from most other chairs. While most chairs are made with an internal frame and then covered in padding and material, this one isn’t.
Instead, the back of the chair has a nearly full plastic frame, with breathable mesh stretched over it.
So what’s the difference? Well, if you’re prone to heating up and sweating, having this breathable mesh on your back, rather than PU leather or fabric, is a godsend.
Fortunately, the headrest is padded, so you don’t need to worry about resting your head on hard plastic.
Aside from that unique feature, it’s pretty standard in terms of what it can do.
It can recline all the way down to 170 degrees, which while not fully flat, is still great. The armrests are gun-stock and adjustable up and down, which actually is a shame since the chair is so cool otherwise.
Unfortunately, it’s also missing a rocking feature, which doesn’t…well, rock.
The cushioning is made of anti-collapse memory foam, which basically means it’s not prone to sinking in or going flat after a few months of regular use.
Unfortunately, this is a common problem with most chairs, so the fact that they took this into account is great.
Finally, while you don’t get a headrest pillow, you do get a full-sized lumbar pillow, much like the previous chairs.
Price Range: Under $200

Conclusion:
Truth is, a lot of funky or weird looking chairs tend to be gimmicky and poorly made. Thankfully, this chair doesn’t have those issues.
Not only that, but they have a lifetime warranty on the frame and 24 months warranty on parts, so you know they have faith in their product.
That faith is reflected in the fact that there are basically no complaints about the chair beside personal preference issues.
If you can spare the cost, this is a great option.
4. Ficmax High-Back Gaming Chair
Going back to a more traditional design, we have this little diddy.
While it’s essentially like most other racer chairs, it does have one standout feature: A USB powered lumbar pillow massager!
Yeah, you don’t see those often!
Thankfully though, it also has some other great stuff going on about it. One example is the 4.8inch thick cushion to rest your tushy on, which is very generous.
Also, the fins are styled more for supporting your body, making this a really good bucket-style seat.
Aside from that, it’s pretty standard.
It can tilt back to 180 degrees which is great, and it has a rocker function. The armrests are gun-stock and are adjustable up/down.
The whole thing is covered in high-quality PU Leather, so you’ll get some good comfort out of this chair.
Price Range: Under $200

Conclusion:
Thankfully, this chair has a good build quality and very few complaints, mostly minor things about the base, but it’s always dealt with well by customer support.
As such, this chair is a pretty good contender when you’re looking for something to buy.
I’ll be honest, the massage pillow is definitely intriguing.
5. Homall Gaming Recliner
Another chair for your living room and this time made by a known manufacturer.
This chair has a lot of similarities with your typical recliner that you might find in a living room.
For starters, the back reclines and the footrest comes out to prop up your legs/feet. It’s a manual operation though, so there’s no lever to pull, you just push back and it does it on it.
The chair can go all the way back to 180 degrees, and up to 90 degrees, so you have a lot of degrees to play around with.
Of course, a fancy chair comes with fancy materials, and you’ll find the chair covered in high-quality PU leather.
Padding is pretty thin, and actually maybe too stiff for some, although if you enjoy a stiff seat, you’ll likely love this chair.
It also has two little storage folds on either side of the chair for your books, remotes, drinks or whatever else you’d likely use while sitting there.
What’s interesting is that there’s a lumbar support pillow that’s permanently attached. Not sure how I feel about that one since it can be completely hit and miss in terms of what people like.
It would have made more sense for it to be removable.
Price Range: Under $200

- Armrest: Yes
- Footrest: Yes

Conclusion:
So the chair has three main issues: The non-movable lumbar support, the stiffness of the cushion and the fact that it’s somewhat small and really a better fit for kids.
Now, those aren’t necessarily issues, especially if you don’t mind a stiff cushion or the lumbar non-movable lumbar pillow.
Otherwise, the chair is perfectly good. The build quality is great, and the customer support similarly great.
Very few complaints all around!
Well, there you go! A list of some great gaming chairs in the $200 range.
As always, I don’t want to color your opinions, but here are a few quick picks from me:
Entry Level: Honestly, the GTRACING Gaming Chair is actually not a bad choice for this category, especially if you’re looking for a standard racer gaming chair.
Mid Level: The Homall Gaming Recliner is a great choice here, especially if you’re looking for a comfortable and relaxing chair.
High Level: This one’s an easy choice, the Ficmax High-Back Gaming Chair. It has tons of padding, great features, can support a lot in terms of weight and size, and is made by a good brand. You can’t go wrong with this one!
Anyway, that’s all folks. Good luck shopping, you have some great choices!
