Best PS3 RTS Games of All Time

We already published the list of best PS3 games of all time, now it’s time to discover the best PS3 RTS games of all time.

With amazing titles available, the PS3 definitely has a great library of RTS games.

So, if you’re a fan of both the PS3 and RTS games, there’s a chance you’ll like this list.

And some of you may already know some of the games mentioned in this list.

#10. Stormrise

Stormrise
  • Release Data: Creative Assembly/Sega, 2009
  • Genre: Strategy » Real-Time » General

Stormrise is heavy on innovation but weak on execution.

It’s an incredibly complex strategy game that will leave enthusiasts furious over its intricate nature and everybody else having a hard time with its steep learning curve.

As it is, this one is reserved for the ultimate hardcore players only.

#9. Under Siege

Under Siege
  • Release Data: Seed Studios, Lda, 2011
  • Genre: Strategy » Real-Time » General

Under Siege is a content-rich package, and with an accessible RTS system, fun multiplayer and the option of creating your own levels, there is a generous amount of game here for RTS fans with the skills to make it through.

#8. Savage Moon

Savage Moon
  • Release Data: FluffyLogic/SCEA, 2009
  • Genre: Strategy » Real-Time » Defense

Apart from its single-player campaign, Savage Moon features a challenge mode that sees you take on a never-ending wave of enemies to see how long you can survive.

The game packs in a decent amount of entertainment, but it doesn’t do quite enough to make it recommendable for anyone who isn’t already a fan of the tower-defense genre.

#7. Guardians of Middle-Earth

Guardians of Middle-Earth
  • Release Data: Monolith Productions/Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, 2012
  • Genre: Strategy » Real-Time » MOBA

This game deserves props for doing such a great job in taking the League of Legends formula and adapting it for the console audience.

This is a greatly enjoyable game, and a very easy recommendation for people who like The Lord of the Rings license, or multiplayer competitive games.

#6. R.U.S.E.

R.U.S.E.
  • Release Data: Eugen Systems/Ubisoft, 2010
  • Genre: Strategy » Real-Time » General

Every game follows a unique path, requiring lots of smart recon and using ruses to fool your enemy.

If you can look past the weakness, you’ll find R.U.S.E. to be a fun and occasionally intense real-time strategy game that’s just unusual enough to catch your imagination.

#5. Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3
  • Release Data: EA LA/Electronic Arts, 2009
  • Genre: Strategy » Real-Time » General

Red Alert 3 is one of those wildly enjoyable and outrageously campy games that make this a good time for anyone looking for a real-time strategy game for their PS3.

A few annoying issues aside, the fun campaigns, video sequences and numerous options does make this an impressive console version.

#4. Tom Clancy’s EndWar

Tom Clancy's EndWar
  • Release Data: Ubisoft Shanghai/Ubisoft, 2008
  • Genre: Strategy » Real-Time » Tactics

EndWar‘s unique voice command mechanic makes it wholly unique among strategy games, and it’s this innovation that stands out above all of its other features.

Strip it away, and you’ll find a RTS game that can be fun and satisfying, but is ultimately just a bit too simplistic.

#3. Anomaly: Warzone Earth

Anomaly: Warzone Earth
  • Release Data: 11 bit studios, 2012
  • Genre: Strategy » Real-Time » General

Anomaly: Warzone Earth certainly brings a refreshing splash to the tower defense genre by taking what we’ve already experience in the genre and making gamers play the role of attacker rather than defender.

With that said, this game should provide a lot of fun for those hoping to get something new out of this well-established genre.

#2. Fat Princess

Fat Princess
  • Release Data: Titan Studios/SCEA, 2009
  • Genre: Strategy » Real-Time » General

The goofy situations and ridiculous premise do a good job of making this game fun, and even though it has a few problems, as long as you have friends to play with and a penchant for gleefully bloody competition, it’s a lot of fun.

#1. PixelJunk Monsters

PixelJunk Monsters
  • Release Data: Q-Games/SCEA, 2008
  • Genre: Strategy » Real-Time » Defense

A second player can grab a controller and join you on the same machine.

Co-op play does reduce the challenge, but it’s also a blast to strategize with a friend.

Yet whether or not a buddy joins you, you’ll probably have a lot of fun with PixelJunk Monsters.

About

Hi, I'm R, and I've been playing video games since I was a kid. My first console was the original PlayStation (the gray one) and I spent countless hours playing Crash Bandicoot series and Spyro series. My second console was the PS2 Fat, and I completed all of the GTA series 100%.
