We already published the list of best Dreamcast games of all time, now it’s time to discover the best Dreamcast beat ’em up games of all time.
With amazing titles available, the Dreamcast definitely has a great library of beat ’em up games.
So, if you’re a fan of both the Dreamcast and beat ’em up games, there’s a chance you’ll like this list.
And some of you may already know some of the games mentioned in this list.
#5. Fighting Force 2
- Release Data: Core Design Ltd./Eidos Interactive, 1999
- Genre: Action » Beat-‘Em-Up » 3D
There are far worse games available for the Dreamcast, but Fighting Force 2 is not really something you should play if you want to be amazed.
It is dull, repetitive and the controls are awkward to say the least.
However, there are some nice details thrown into the mix and it does look quite nice at times.
#4. Dynamite Cop!
- Release Data: Sega, 1999
- Genre: Action » Beat-‘Em-Up » 3D
Dynamite Cop! has all the sheen and shine of a Sega arcade game which is great, but this is a blessing and a curse as you probably wont get much value out of it.
Despite some issues, Dynamite Cop! is a wacky, fun game to play with friends that have no clue what they’re getting into.
#3. Zombie Revenge
- Release Data: Sega, 1999
- Genre: Action » Beat-‘Em-Up » 3D
Is Zombie Revenge worth playing?
Despite the downfalls, I’d recommend checking it out, because it’s quick and easy to play and whether you’re a fan of the series or not, it’s certainly action-packed with a so-bad-it’s-good B-grade movie vibe.
The action is constant, the zombies are well armed and the game is focused on the action.
#2. Sword of the Berserk: Guts’ Rage
- Release Data: Yuke’s/ASCII Entertainment, 2000
- Genre: Action » Beat-‘Em-Up » 3D
As it stands, this is one of the best Dreamcast hack ‘n’ slash games to date.
Although it has limited gameplay and it is meant to appeal to a niche, hardcore audience, Berserk is a great experience that keeps your finger on the attack button.
Sword of the Berserk is the best Final Fight-type game to appear in ages.
#1. Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles
- Release Data: LucasArts, 2000
- Genre: Action » Beat-‘Em-Up » 3D
Star Wars always has good sound and this is no exception. The music is great and the classic lightsaber sound is there in all it’s humming glory.
Decent levels and some control issues drag down what had the potential to be a great game. As is, Jedi Power Battles is great fun if you’re a Star Wars fan.
