We already published the list of best original Xbox games of all time, now it’s time to discover the best original Xbox vehicle simulator games of all time.
With amazing titles available, the original Xbox definitely has a great library of vehicle simulator games.
So, if you’re a fan of both the original Xbox and vehicle simulator games, there’s a chance you’ll like this list.
And some of you may already know some of the games mentioned in this list.
#10. GunGriffon: Allied Strike
- Release Data: Game Arts/Tecmo, 2004
- Genre: Simulation » Vehicle » Combat
With a little more work in all areas, the game could have been a solid giant-robot combat title.
Those who simply can’t get enough of this style of game may find some redeeming value in GunGriffon: Allied Strike, but everyone else might find better games.
#9. 187 Ride or Die
- Release Data: Ubisoft Paris/Ubisoft, 2005
- Genre: Simulation » Vehicle » Combat
Overall, 187 Ride or Die is a competent but uninteresting combat racing game that looks good but is dragged down by dumb writing and poor performances.
While there are some laughs to be had at the game’s expense, there certainly aren’t enough to make this game worth getting.
If you love bad story, play it for a few days.
#8. Cel Damage
- Release Data: Pseudo Interactive/Electronic Arts, 2001
- Genre: Simulation » Vehicle » Combat
Cel Damage is vehicular combat of the demolition derby sort—what sets it apart from other games in its genre is how it attempts to emulate a slapstick cartoon show.
Bored Xbox owners may want to try out Cel Damage to satisfy their multiplayer needs, and it most assuredly can be fun for younger players.
#7. RoadKill
- Release Data: Terminal Reality/Midway, 2003
- Genre: Simulation » Vehicle » Combat
This game may not be the next GTA, but it’s got a lot of the same good, simple shooting action.
If you think the idea of a game about driving around in a machine-gun-toting car while completely ignoring traffic laws and blowing away anything in your path sounds like fun, then you’ll get it out of RoadKill.
#6. Steel Battalion: Line of Contact
- Release Data: Capcom, 2004
- Genre: Simulation » Vehicle » Combat
Steel Battalion: Line of Contact can really only be recommended to those who already have the original game.
If you’ve already made the investment in the original game and its controller, then you might as well get some more use out of it by picking up this one.
#5. Phantom Crash
- Release Data: Genki, 2002
- Genre: Simulation » Vehicle » Combat
Phantom Crash looks like your average mech combat game at first glance, but is actually quite impressive in certain areas.
Furthermore the fighting is engaging and like any good game, requires a fair amount of skill that has to be developed and refined over time to be successful.
#4. Mashed: Drive to Survive
- Release Data: Supersonic Software/Empire Interactive, 2004
- Genre: Simulation » Vehicle » Combat
Mashed: Drive to Survive is looking good and the reasons are that it has extra tracks, cars, better handling and all the little things that make it better.
With a learning curve of about 30 seconds, Drive to Survive is a ton of fun that you should be able to keep coming back to time and time again.
#3. MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf
- Release Data: Day 1 Studios/Microsoft Game Studios, 2004
- Genre: Simulation » Vehicle » Combat
The first MechAssault was a superb game in its day, but it also benefited from being the first awesome multiplayer game available for the system.
However, years have passed and in almost every way MechAssault 2 is a better effort than the first
#2. Steel Battalion
- Release Data: Capcom/Microsoft Game Studios, 2002
- Genre: Simulation » Vehicle » Combat
If you’re willing to put up with this sort of game design, you’ll find a short, fairly simplistic game that is backed up by one of the most impressive presentations ever seen on a console.
If that sounds like something you’d want to own, then don’t hesitate to pick up one of the huge Steel Battalion controllers with the game.
#1. MechAssault
- Release Data: Day 1 Studios/Microsoft Game Studios, 2002
- Genre: Simulation » Vehicle » Combat
MechAssault isn’t an overly complicated game, and once you get used to the game’s pacing, it’s easy to get good at controlling your mech.
The well-done campaign mode, the terrific presentation, and the variety of modes all combine to make a truly superb final product.
