1. Cohesion XP 2.1 Gaming Chair with Audio – The Most Popular Gaming Chair Under $50

Cohesion XP 2.1 Gaming Chair with Audio

Check it out on Amazon »

One of only two chairs with a speaker on this list, the Cohesion XP is your standard rocker style gaming chair.

Starting with its most advanced feature, this gaming chair comes with a 2.1 speaker system, which is two normal speakers and a subwoofer.

In a nice twist the speakers are actually set in the headrest, so you won’t have too many issues with it being too quiet or the sound being directed away from you.

You also have a handy and easy to reach dial on the side to adjust for volume, as well as an input and output for you to connect your electronics.

The chair itself is a padded cloth, so while it’s not the most comfortable ever, it’s not bad at all.

It also rocks, which is always a fun little feature.

Finally, like most rocker chairs, this one can fold in the middle, which makes it great for storage if you don’t want to clutter up your house.

There are a couple of downsides though, the main one being that it’s not really great for averaged sized people.

This chair is really meant for kids, teenagers and maybe shorter adults.

So if you’re average height, you might not find this chair too comfortable.

Another issue is that the build quality isn’t necessarily great.

Depending on the use, you could find the cloth tearing or the wood squeaking after a few months.

That being said, it is a chair under $50, so it’s to be expected.

Under $50

Conclusion

While not a bad chair by any means, the Cohesion XP does have some issues.

The big question for you is whether those issues can be overcome and if you’re going to get value out of it.

Ultimately though, this is a great chair for a kid or teenager, so don’t knock just because it’s not better suited for adults!

2. Sundale Outdoor/Indoor Adjustable Chair

Sundale Outdoor/Indoor Adjustable Chair

Check it out on Amazon »

While this chair may look simple by comparison, it’s actually not a bad chair if you’re just looking for something good to sit in.

As the title says, the material is soft-brushed polyester, so it will feel nice for your bum.

It does lock in 5 different angles which is nice, and while it doesn’t fold in half, it does open up flat for easy storage.

One thing to remember though is that it does have a metal frame inside, which might impact your seating experience.

It’s low weight and ability to lie flat make this chair great for portability.

You don’t only need to use this in the living room.

One great option for the Sundale is to use it as a supplement for other chairs, such as dining room chairs or desk chairs.

  • Weight capacity: Essentially limitless
Conclusion

While this chair isn’t anything particular to look at in terms of features, it’s still a great chair.

If you’re looking for something to add to your living room or just furniture in general, this is a great little option.

The only main downside is that the larger you are, the more likely you’ll feel the metal frame after some time.

3. Imperial Ergonomic Video Rocker Gaming Chair

Imperial Ergonomic Video Rocker Gaming Chair

Check it out on Amazon »

If you’re looking for something like the Cohesion XP, but instead of speakers, it has slightly better materials, than the Imperial is a great option.

It’s made from a microfiber and mesh fabric, so it’s definitely comfortable.

The microfiber and mesh combination also means that it’s pretty easy to clean, so you don’t have to worry too much about getting things dirty.

Another added benefit is that it’s slightly taller, so it can actually fit an adult rather than being more targeted to kids.

It is ergonomic, but obviously not as ergonomic as a more expensive or purpose-built chair.

It also folds in half, for easy storage which is actually super convenient.

One issue it does share with the Cohesion XP is that the build quality isn’t super great.

It has a weight inside which could be dislodged, making the experience wholly terrible.

It is also prone to squeaking after prolonged use.

Of course, it’s a cheap chair, so like the Cohesion XP, It’s expected for the price point.

  • Cup holder: No
  • Massage: No
  • Weight capacity: 250 lbs/113 kg
Conclusion

When you’re in this price range, it really is a matter of picking feature X or feature Y, which is why we compare this chair to the Cohesion X.

One the one hand, you can have speakers and slightly worse materials, or have no speakers and slightly better materials and a higher back.

Ultimately, the choice has to be yours, but we will say this: The Cohesion X is great for kids and teens, whereas the Imperial can fit adults.

4. ECR4Kids SoftZone Kids Gaming Rocker

ECR4Kids SoftZone Kids Gaming Rocker

Check it out on Amazon »

After reading the name of the chair, you might be shocked to find out that this chair is perfect for kids.

While it’s pretty standard for rockers, the ECR4Kids has features which are great when it comes to kids (and how they treat stuff).

First of all, the material of the chair is polyurethane, and if you have any kids, you know this material is a godsend.

Easy to clean, easy to wipe, you don’t really have to worry about food or drink spills.

You also don’t need to worry for it being colored on or any other things of that nature.

The seat itself is also padded, so you’ll have the peace of mind knowing that your child is comfortable.

On top of all that, it’s very lightweight and easy to move for kids.

That means you won’t have to be constantly going back and forth moving the chair.

You can pretty much hand it to them, and let them move it to where they like and prefer!

It’s a rocker, so they can have tons of fun with that.

A couple of issues though. Firstly, it doesn’t fold in the middle, which makes it a bit harder to store away.

Secondly, and maybe more importantly, it doesn’t have a super great build quality, so it really isn’t suitable for anybody but kids.

Price Range

Under $50

  • Blue and powder blue

  • Suitable for flight simulator: No
  • Suitable for eSports: No
  • Suitable for living room: Yes
  • Cup holder: No
  • Massage: No
  • Weight capacity: 175 lbs/80kg
Conclusion

While this might not be a fancy chair or great for adults, it’s actually pretty good if you’re planning to buy this for your child.

The material covering means that it’s easy to clean and you don’t have to worry too much about the chair being too heavy.

Obviously, you aren’t likely to be using it but, you know, maybe get your own chair!

5. Bestway Multi-Max II Inflatable Air Chair

Bestway Multi-Max II Inflatable Air Chair

Check it out on Amazon »

While not your typical gaming chair, the Bestway Multi-Max II is definitely something to consider if you’re looking for a more fun and portable option.

Let’s address the elephant in the room: This is an air chair, which means you’ll likely have to buy a small pump to fill it.

There’s no way you’ll manage to fill it up on your own just using your breath.

Aside from that big thing though, it’s smooth sailing going forward.

Firstly, it’s multi-purpose, serving as both a chair and a bed.

The cushions of the chair can fold out and it does actually come with an included air pillow.

So hey, at least you won’t have to worry about the cushion/sleeping situation.

The surface itself is flocked, which is actually pretty nice for an inflatable chair.

There’s also a cup holder there, so you don’t have to worry about having some kind of additional surface.

Since it is inflatable, it’s actually really easy to carry and store, even if you include the pump.

If you’re moving houses, or tend to hang out at a friend’s house that’s woefully lacking in chairs, the Bestway Multi-max II is a great option.

  • Suitable for eSports: No
  • Suitable for living room: Yes
  • Cup holder: Yes
  • Massage: No
  • Weight capacity: Unknown, but we assume no more than 175 lbs/80 kg
Conclusion

Yes, this chair might not have speakers or be ergonomic.

It might not have a high back or a recline feature. In fact, it might just barely be a gaming chair.

That being said, it’s actually a good option for people who aren’t looking for anything fancy, and value utility over luxury.

Since it turns into a bed, you can easily use this as a temporary one if you’re moving.

If you’re not, you could always let your kids use it for sleepovers or when they have friends visiting.

It’s pretty cheap and low key, so even if things go south, you won’t feel it hit your pocket too badly!

6. Jhua Home Adjustable Folding Lazy Sofa

Jhua Home Adjustable Folding Lazy Sofa

Check it out on Amazon »

Another great option similar to the Sundale, the Jhua is great for the cases where you don’t need any of the fancy stuff and just want a comfortable chair to game on.

It has 6 different degree settings, one extra above the Sundale.

Also, it’s made from fleece and high elastic foam (essentially memory foam), so it’s very comfortable and durable.

One of the upsides of these kinds of multi-purpose chairs is that you can use it for more than just gaming, such as reading, napping, or just listening to music.

The one downside though is that the build quality isn’t as great to some of the similar chairs at this price range.

  • Massage: No
  • Weight capacity: Essentially limitless
Conclusion

If you want to save a bit of money and go for a slightly cheaper option for these kinds of foldable, floor chairs, the Jhua is actually pretty good.

Otherwise, better to just go for a slightly more expensive (and better) option.

7. Sundale Outdoor/Indoor Padded Recliner Gaming Chair

Sundale Outdoor/Indoor Padded Recliner Gaming Chair

Check it out on Amazon »

One of the slightly fancier chairs but in the same vein as Bestway Multi-Max II.

If you’re looking for a chair to just lazy about with and relax, this is actually a great choice.

The main feature here is the sturdy frame it’s built of and the 5 different positions you can set the chair to.

The included armrests are a nice addition which I’m sure a lot of people are going to love.

Plus you get a convenient pocket to put all your stuff in!

The fabric itself is waterproof, so it’s fine to take it right out the pool or just outside in general.

Of course, it is just a padded cushion, so it’s not as comfortable as some of the other options.

One of the cool little tricks of this chair is that when it folds, it has straps so you can use it like a backpack.

Not sure how many people will take advantage of it, but it’s a neat feature.

Oh, and it even comes with side-zippers, so you can store a bunch of stuff as you move around.

Conclusion

Much like the other chairs on this list, you’re going to have to make a decision on what you need more.

If you’re looking for comfort rather than mobility and utility, then this probably isn’t the chair for you.

If you are though, this is a great choice, probably even better than the Bestway Multi-Max II.

8. Do4U Home Adjustable Folding Lazy Sofa

Do4U Home Adjustable Folding Lazy Sofa

Check it out on Amazon »

The Do4U is essentially a nicer version of the Jhua.

The materials are an upgrade, being soft plush fabric, with actual memory foam on the inside.

It also has an extra position, bringing the total to six: five angled and one completely flat.

It also looks a bit nicer than the Jhua.

Otherwise, all the uses for the chair essentially the same, so we won’t harp on about them!

Conclusion

While we don’t want to favor one chair over another since a lot of this stuff is subjective, we’d have to say that the Do4U is clearly better than the Jhu, and if you can afford it, then this is the one you should go for.

9. By Cool Gaming Chair

By Cool Gaming Chair

Hmmmm, after reading the name, one wonders the exact purpose of this chair…

But on a serious note, this another Rocker entry, and a pretty good one actually.

Very similar to the Cohesion XP, but maybe slightly better.

It features a 2.1 sound system, as well as the super fancy sounding Audio Force Modulation (AFM), which is basically a sound-based rumble feature.

The 2.1 sound system comes with a nice, easy to reach panel that has a volume knob, one input, and one output jack.

We’re not exactly sure where the speakers are, but if we had to guess, we’d say hidden somewhere in the headrest or on the back of the chair.

Aside from that, it’s a rocker chair, and the material is a distressed brown suede, which looks and feels nice.

Of course, there is a downside.

Like the Cohesion XP 2.1, this chair is really meant more for kids or teenagers, rather than adults.

So if you were thinking about picking this up for yourself (and you’re an adult), think again!

  • Weight capacity: Unknown, but probably similar to the Cohesion XP at 250 lbs/113 kg
Conclusion

Much like the Do4U, we’re going to have to say that this chair is probably the better choice when you consider the Cohesion XP.

Build quality is slightly better, it looks nicer.

Of course, things can change even past a review date, and these two chairs are essentially neck and neck.

We don’t envy your choice!

10. Crew Furniture Classic Video Game Chair

Crew Furniture Classic Video Game Chair

After seeing so many generically named chairs, one wonders if the people who make them are not very creative!

Thankfully, generic names serve a purpose, in that they tell you from the get-go “You aren’t going to be spending a lot of money”.

There isn’t much to say about this chair since it is a generic one.

This is pretty much a cheap copy of other chairs of similar types, such as the ECR4Kids.

The upshot is that it’s cheaper and it probably can serve the same functions.

Price Range

  • Weight capacity: Unknown, but probably similar to the ECR4Kids at 175 lbs/80 kg

If you’re really pressed for cash and want to get something cheap, then you can pick this chair to get for your kids.

Otherwise, it’s better to just save up and get something slightly better like the ECR4Kids.

Conclusion

There you have it, the 10 best gaming chairs under $50.

While we don’t like to pick, we do feel obliged to maybe help you while you decide, so here are some of our quick picks:

Entry Level: In this level, you’ll find the “Video Game Chair” and the Jhua, two different types of seats, but at pretty low prices. Nothing fancy but they’ll get the job done, at least for a while.

One extra caveat we’d like to add at this point is that if you can, you really should try and save up to go to the mid or high-end levels. You’re going to get way more bang for your buck, plus your purchase will end up lasting longer (and saving you money).

Mid Level: Here we go up a notch to things like the Imperial, the Do4U and the Sundale indoor/outdoor adjustable back-pack chair.

These have slightly better materials, better options in terms of adjustability, and they’re better build quality too boot.

High End: It’s a tight call between the Cohesion XP and the ‘Gaming Chair’, but we’d probably have to go for the latter. It just looks cooler, and it has essentially the same features as the Cohesion XP.

And with that, we’ll leave you to your decision making. Good luck!

Things to Consider Before Buying a Cheap(ish) Gaming Chair

First of all, be aware that you aren’t likely to get any of the fancy features that you’d find on most gaming chairs, such as ergonomics, speakers or anything of that sort. After all, you’re spending no more than $50, so don’t expect features you’d find on a $150 chair.

For example, only two chairs on this list have speakers.

Just because you are buying a $50 or under chair doesn’t mean you shouldn’t think it through before you buy. It is hard-earned money after all.

Consider whether you want armrests or not, since this will ultimately impact both yourself and the price. A lot of chairs are great when you sit on them, but when you consider that you need surfaces for phones, cups, glasses or what have you, it starts becoming an issue.

Granted, all of the chairs on this list sit on the floor, but that’s not always the safest place to put your stuff. Doubly so if the chair is being used by a child!

Consider who and where you are going to be using the chair. All of the chairs we’ll show you today essentially sit on the floor, so make sure you have the space for it. Also, gaming chairs at this price range tend to be targeted to kids and teens.

Don’t expect to find many (or any) chairs that fit big and tall people.

Consider whether you’ll want a more portable chair, or if you want something that’s going to be sitting in a specific spot. A lot of the chairs in this price range are portable, meaning that they can easily be taken outside, to a park or to a friend’s house.

While you aren’t going to get the same level of adjustability you would with a more expensive chair, you should still consider if you even want any adjustability. Sometimes it’s nice to just have a chair that doesn’t do anything and is just comfortable.

The material is an important consideration at this price point. You aren’t going to find anything luxurious, so at least pick something that you like and are comfortable with.

Similarly, you’ll want to consider the type of maintenance they’ll need. Most chairs under $50 tend to be easy to deal with, but some might need a bit more love and care than others.

It’s always important to consider the long-term cost of owning anything, and if you have to replace it regularly, you aren’t saving money, even if it’s cheaper.

Finally, and as per usual for any product, make sure that their customer support and their build quality are good. There’s nothing worse than spending money on a chair that breaks easily and trying to contact an absent customer support.
